About Our Logo

We’re thrilled to share the story behind our logo and its significance to our community

Meaning of the Logo:

Our logo embodies the unity between Indian and British cultures embraced by the Bunts Sangha UK community. It combines various elements to convey our values and heritage:

  • Integration of Flags: The fusion of Indian and British flags symbolises the diverse cultures and histories enriching our lives.
  • Yakshagana Headgear and Flame: These represent the rich tapestry of Bunt culture, tradition, and performing arts. This choice of symbolism highlights the importance of storytelling, creativity, and the enduring legacy of Bunts’ cultural expressions.
  • London Skyline: Captures the city’s majestic architecture including the Houses of Parliament and the London Eye. Historically, we have had this skyline in our previous logo too. This reflects our connection to the vibrant spirit of the city
  • Voddi Ungila: Our traditional ring celebrates the pivotal role of women within our community. This inclusion is a powerful statement on the Sangha’s commitment to gender equality, respect for women’s roles in society, and the celebration of matriarchal values that we have inherited
  • Values Statement: We embrace three core values: Celebrate, Cherish, and Connect. We celebrate our cultural heritage, cherish our community’s traditions, and strive to connect with one another and the broader society around us.

Design process

Our logo design journey was an inspiring testament to the vibrant spirit of our community. From the initial stages, we engaged our members in a collaborative and inclusive process, inviting them to share their creativity and vision. Their enthusiastic participation infused the project with a sense of unity and shared purpose, as we collectively shaped the visual identity of Bunts Sangha UK. It was heartening to witness the diverse perspectives and talents of our members come together, guiding us towards a logo that truly embodies the essence of our organisation. In every step of the journey, from concept to refinement, our community’s unwavering support and dedication were instrumental in shaping the final design.

Members Submission Phase: We started with the committee members putting together the vision for the Sangha and then requesting the members to submit logos for inspiration. We had more than 10 unique entries showcasing their creativity and vision.

Professional Refinement: We then had professional designers refine these ideas to produce ten unique designs by incorporating community feedback. These were then shortlisted to four by our committee to be voted by our members

Selection and Finalization Process: We then opened it up for community voting. We had more than 180 members vote. This is how our winning design emerged. We then worked closely with the designer to finally refine the winning concept to get to its current form, ensuring authenticity and relevance.
